How it works

An hour with paint, a painting for your wall

Five techniques

You do not have to choose in advance. The techniques can be combined, even on one painting.

Gloved hands pouring turquoise paint into a cup layered with blue, purple and white

You pour the paint

Pouring

In pouring, you layer your chosen colours in a funnel or cup and then pour the whole lot onto the canvas. By tilting the canvas, you let the colours spread and watch them blend into an original abstract painting.

Studio tip. Add one metallic or glow-in-the-dark colour, or a silicone medium for an effect of oily bubbles in the painting.

A swing or a spinning canvas

Spinning

In spinning, also called the swing, you let the paint run from a swinging container hung above the canvas. Its movement, while the canvas spins at the same time, creates colourful circular patterns that look like rainbows.

Studio tip. You can use the swing on a painting made with a scraper.

A hairdryer blowing white paint across a turquoise canvas, with bottles of paint around it

Blowing paint with a hairdryer

Blowing

With the hairdryer technique, you first pour a base colour that helps carry the other colours. Then you add the colours you have chosen. You blow into the paint in different directions, depending on the result you want. An original abstract painting takes shape under your hands.

Studio tip. Add a little silicone oil to the paint for a bubble effect.

Dragging paint with a scraper

Scraping

Using scrapers, you drag several colours in different directions so that they overlap. Gradually overlapping and layering the colours creates a beautiful, richly coloured painting.

Studio tip. You can add spinning to the finished painting.

Paint balloons on a pink canvas, with a child in a yellow suit throwing darts at them

Aim for the paint

Splashing

Splashing is sure to wake up your creative inner child. Your task is to hit balloons filled with acrylic paint with darts. When a balloon bursts, the paint splashes onto the canvas. You can also use other fun tools, such as foam guns, brushes or your own hands. You create a unique piece, and no protective suit stays clean.

Studio tip. This is the one that makes you laugh the most, and it works well for children too.

Before you come

Will there be other people in the studio?

No. During your booking you have the studio to yourselves, and we are with you the whole time.

Does everyone have to paint?

No. Anyone who does not want to paint can sit back and have something to eat or drink.

Can we make one painting together?

Yes. A couple, friends or a parent with children can work on one painting.

What if I get paint on me?

You get a suit, gloves, goggles and shoe covers. Paint washes off your skin with soap and water. It only washes out of clothes while it is still wet.

Where can we park?

Near the studio; parking here is paid.

What should I bring?

Nothing. You get a suit, gloves, goggles and shoe covers from us.

Where do we find you?

V Horkách 19, Praha 4, a short walk from the Horky stop (tram 11 and 14) and Kloboučnická (buses 124, 139 and 188).

Can I take my painting home straight away?

No, the painting first needs to dry for at least 48 hours. When it is ready, we send you a text message with collection times.

Can you send the painting to me?

Yes, by courier within Czechia for 350 CZK, or to Slovakia for 450 CZK.

What paints do you use?

Quality acrylic paints in many shades. We mix them with a medium that gives them the right consistency. Once dry, they are water-resistant and the painting lasts.

How long do you keep the painting?

Up to 6 months from when it was made. After that, we may offer uncollected paintings for sale and give the proceeds to charity.

Not sure how many paintings?

Book an hour. It is enough for 1–2 paintings and we can agree on the rest at the studio. You only pay for the paintings you take home.
